Pathar ka Goshat

Pathar ka Goshat is one of the most historical recipe of Indian cuisine. Its origin is Hyderabadi but it's equally popular in all over the region including Pakistan. Pathar ka Goshat is perfect for special occasions like Eid.

  • 1 KG Mutton Strips
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 10 Green Chillies Finally Chopped
  • 2 tsp Ghee
  • 1 Cup Curd
  • 1/2 tsp Green Cardamom Powder
  • 1 tbsp Green Papaya Crushed to Paste
  • Salt As Required

  • 2 Wedges Lemon


  1. Step 1

    Take a large bowl and mix lamb pieces with curd. Add garam masala, cardamom powder, chopped green chillies, papaya paste and salt. Mix the ingredients well and keep it aside to marinate.

  2. Step 2

    Now, take a large granite stone and heat it by burning live charcoal below it. Once it is hot, put the marinated meat pieces on it and sprinkle ghee on lamb meat.

  3. Step 3

    Cook and turn the meat pieces until lamb turns crispy and brown in colour. Once cooked, garnish with green onions and lemon wedges. Serve immediately.

Recipe Notes

'Pathar' in Pathar ka Goshat is Granite stone commonly available. It's used as floor tiles and can be bought from any tile shop.
